San Antonio Texas

San Antonio Texas is home to over 2 million people making it the 7th largest city in the nation and the 2nd largest in Texas.  San Antonio makes up part of the Texas hill country and is known for popular destinations and events such as the River Walk, Alamo, Spurs, Sea World, San Antonio Rodeo, Fiesta San Antonio, and Six Flags Fiesta Texas.

Arts & Culture

San Antonio has approximately 60 art galleries, 17 cultural centers, 28 museums, and 58 performing arts centers.

Festivals and Events

Each year San Antonio holds several Festivals and Events throughout the year, just to name a few; the Alamo Bowl, Stock Show and Rodeo, Poteet Strawberry Festival, and Fiesta San Antonio.

Golf

San Antonio was listed in Forbes magazine as being one of the top cities in the nation for golf, with approximately 40 golf courses in the area, including the TPC San Antonio which holds two PGA Tour courses at the JW Marriot. 

History and Culture

San Antonio is full of history and it all begins with the Alamo, there are also several other locations and sites for taking in more of the area’s history and culture such as; San Fernando Cathedral, several Missions, Fort Sam Houston, Botanical Gardens, Japanese Tea Gardens, Natural Bridge Caverns, San Antonio Zoo, Witte museum and much more. 

San Antonio River Walk

The San Antonio River Walk is nestled right in the center of town and is visited by millions of people annually.  The River Walk is lined with several retail, restaurant, and hotels locations.  You can enjoy a beautiful walk or take a river cruise on the water taxi.

The San Antonio Museum of Art is located directly off the river.  Additionally, the river is a short walk to the Alamo, Market Square, River shopping center, and many other area attractions such as the Palace of Wax.

Sports

San Antonio is home to the San Antonio Spurs (NBA), San Antonio Silver Stars (WNBA), and Mission Baseball Team (MILB)

 Military

San Antonio’s military bases Lackland Air Force Base, Randolph Air Force Base make up a large portion of those individuals coming into the area.  Visitors can also learn more about the San Antonio military presence by visiting Fort Sam Houston and Lackland Air Force Base (Tuesday tours).

Outdoor Fun

San Antonio and the hill country have a lot to offer when it comes to outdoor fun.  Just to name a few; Government Canyon State Natural Area (see the beautiful flowers in the spring), Guadalupe River (tubing and rafting fun), Canyon Lake, Medina Lake, the Hill Country Vineyards, Japanese Tea Garden, San Antonio Zoo, River Walk, Botanical Gardens, and if you like to shop outdoors, then you must visit the Shops of La Cantera.  During certain seasons the German Hill county areas such as Fredricksburg and Boerne hold many outdoor festivals and events that are fun for the whole family. 

Theme Parks

The San Antonio area has some of the best theme parks in the State; Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Sea World, Splash Town, and Schlitterbahn. 

The San Antonio Surrounding Areas

San Antonio is also near several surrounding areas that hold quite a bit of charm and character to the Hill Country.  Here are some of the nearby towns that are great to visit or live in, if you are interested in learning more about one of the below areas, please let me know and I will get you a package on that area.
